Jon Schmidt to Perform at 25th Annual Larry H. Miller Community Sing-Along

The Larry H. Miller family will continue its tradition of hosting a free Christmas Carol sing-along for members of the community. This year, classical new age pianist and composer Jon Schmidt will make a special guest appearance. The event will take place on Monday, December 21 at 7 p.m. at EnergySolutions Arena in downtown Salt Lake City. The event is free and open to the public.

“Christmas is a very special time for family and friends to be together and enjoy the holiday spirit. This event was one of the highlights of the Holiday Season for Larry each year and his dream was to fill the EnergySolutions Arena so that everyone could participate. We are excited to be able to continue this tradition in his name and look forward to sharing it with the community,” said Gail Miller. “Having Jon join us for the 25th anniversary of the event makes it even more special for everyone participating.”

The Christmas Carol Sing-Along will feature a 30-piece orchestra with music specially arranged for the concert. The popular event is sponsored by the Miller family and composer/conductor Robert C. Bowden. Bowden is a long-time conductor of the holiday concert and former conductor of the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus.

The Christmas Carol Sing-Along is entering its 11th holiday season at EnergySolutions Arena and was previously hosted at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square. An annual community favorite, this year’s performance marks the concert’s 25th year of production.

Admission is free of charge and the public is welcome. No tickets are necessary and seating is general admission. Audience members are encouraged to sing, and printed programs with song lyrics will be provided. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Each guest who attends the event will receive a free hot dog and Coca-Cola soft drink, a free Utah Jazz game ticket*, a complimentary ticket to a 2010 Salt Lake Bees game**, free popcorn at any Megaplex Theatre and a buy one, get one free coupon for super go-karts at Miller Motorsports Park.

In partnership with UTA, guests can ride TRAX free on December 21 from 5-10 p.m. to and from EnergySolutions Arena. Please visit rideuta.com and print a special ticket valid only on TRAX.
Each person must have their own ticket. For those who do not have access to TRAX, complimentary parking is available in the Park Place parking lot, kitty-corner from the arena (enter on 300 West).
