Great art for kids! Kathy Degener, Children's Art Specialist, demonstrated a Monet Tissue Paper art activity to do with children.
Materials List:
1. Variety of Colors of Tissue Paper. Tear into small pieces.
2. Sheets of cardstock paper. 12"x12" are great.
3. Glue. "Elmers" or any other white glue.
4. 1" or smaller flat brush.
Instructions:
Mix 1 tablespoon of glue with 1 tablespoon of water. Stir until loose and milky. This is enough for many paintings.
Each person is given a sheet of cardstock paper as their background.
Using the paint brush, paint the glue onto the paper in the shape you want the tissue paper to form. Place small pieces of tissue paper to fill up the shape.
If you have layers, or wish to make the tissue stick to the paper more, paint over the top of the tissue with more of the glue solution.
After the picture is complete, set where it can dry sometimes up to 24 hours.
The glue will be a glaze on top of the tissue paper and help keep the colors more lively.
Enjoy!
