Cheesy Pita Crackers
These are a great accompaniment to soups, stews, salads, and dips.
And, best of all, they are so easy!
Ingredients
4 Pita Bread rounds
3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 clove garlic, pressed in a garlic press
Sea or Kosher Salt
Fontina Cheese, or other cheese (i.e. Gruyere, Cheddar, etc.), grated
Directions
Preheat oven to broil
In a small bowl combine olive oil and pressed garlic.
Lightly brush pita rounds on both sides with olive oil mixture. Cut each round into 6 wedges. Sprinkle with a dash of salt. Place on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper (or a silpat baking sheet). Watching closely, place under broiler until lightly browned (about 2 minutes). Remove from oven and using tongs turn each wedge over. Sprinkle with a little cheese and place back under the broiler until cheese melts and wedges are lightly browned.
Serve immediately or cool and serve at room temperature.
