1. Cleveland Cavs
The championship is as close as a deal for Amare Stoudamire. Last week:  1.

2. Los Angeles Lakers.
Take all the time you need there, buddy.  As we all know, they’re 3-0 without Kobe.  Last week: 2

3. Denver Nuggets
Games against Cleveland, Boston and the Lakers before the month’s out should tell a lot. Last week: 3

4. Orlando Magic
Are the Cavs in their heads? After the Cavs improved to 2-0 against the Magic, Shaq called out Dwight Howard: “The whole Superman thing kind of bothers him,” LeBron James said. “That’s definitely his nickname.” Last week: 4.

5. Atlanta Hawks
The .500 road team comes out of the break with four straight on the road, capping the trip with the Jazz on Feb. 22. Last week: 5.

6 Utah Jazz
That stinker at home against the Lakers can be easily erased by going at 3-1 on the upcoming road trip. Last week: 6.

7. Dallas Mavericks
Give Mark Cuban credit for trying. He believes trading for Brendan Haywood and Caron Butler makes his team “significantly better.” Last week: 8.

8.  Boston Celtics
Danny Ainge admits that he needs to do something to shake up things. Guess here is he’s thinking big. Last week: 9.

9. Phoenix Suns
Get on with it, already. Three or four years of all the Stoudamire trade rumors are getting old.  Last week: 7

10. Oklahoma City.
Kevin Durant has 25 consecutive games with at least 25 points, the longest single-season streak since Allen Iverson did it in his MVP season in 2000-01. Last week: 10.

11. San Antonio Spurs
They continue to be the hardest team to figure out. With Tony Parker injured, they managed to win in Denver in the last game before the break. Last week: 11

12. Toronto Raptors
They went into the break winning 8 out of last 9 games. They come out of it by playing 4 of next 5 at home. Last week: 13.

13. Portland Trail Blazers
They are 5-7 since Brandon Roy went down with a hamstring injury. He has a week to get ready before five-game road trip starts. Last week: 12.

14. Houston Rockets
Almost half of their 27 wins have come against teams below .500. Last week: 14.

15. New Orleans Hornets
Darren Collison has not played like a rookie in replacing injured Chris Paul, but he’s still treated as one, as evidenced by the pink “Little Mermaid” suitcase his teammates have made him cart around this season. Last week: 15.
