Andy Waits is a broadcast news veteran who started at the bottom rung of a radio station in Midland-Odessa, Texas. He quickly climbed the broadcast ladder, with a stop in Salt Lake City, and eventually landed his own national radio show on the Westwood One Radio Network. He also worked as a television news writer and anchor in the Los Angeles area. Andy says while growing up under diffi cult family circumstances he was obliged to educate himself through books, newspapers and the world around him. He was formally trained at Odessa College in Texas. Later he pursued theological studies at The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. Andy is extremely well read on politics, culture, technology, and entertainment. It’s not a surprise he was hired by the Hasbro Corporation as the chief writer for their trivia game Shout About Country. He is also a talented singer and sound engineer. Andy has always been active in the community. He has played signifi cant roles in fundraising efforts for charitable organizations and once raised $20,000 for the Grace Resource Center. He also helped pull in 15 tons of food for a Los Angeles area women’s shelter.
