KJZZ Cafe - Brandy Vega

By Matt Trujillo

Brandy Vega is originally from the sunny state of Arizona. She moved to Utah 15 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. After graduating early from West Jordan High School, Brandy traded in her senior trip for the delights of boot camp and the Army Reserve where she enlisted as a broadcast journalist and public affairs specialist. She proudly served the country for eight years. During that time Brandy was fortunate enough to interview several national and international leaders, including: President Bush, the First Lady, Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld, and General Patraeus. Brandy received a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from the Defence Information School in Maryland and also studied at the University of Utah. She became the youngest TV reporter when she landed her first on-air reporter position with a Fox News affiliate at the age of 20. She is also an excellent video shooter and editor. Brandy is married with two beautiful little girls. She loves spending time with her family and being involved with her community and church. Her pastimes include racing ATVs, basketball, and anything else that provides a challenge and competition. She is very excited to join the KJZZ Café team and be a part of a new, cutting-edge morning show airing in the state she loves with the community she adores.
