The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has actively been involved in the passing of Proposition 8 in California. Proposition 8 is an initiative measure on the 2008 California General Election ballot] If passed, the proposition would change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California. Yesterday the LDS Church held a meeting via satellite to talk with their members in California and also in Utah County. We have on the phone Dr. Greggory DeVore who participated in that meeting and who had also donated over 25-thousand dollars in support of proposition 8.
